Butkus was a fearsome player who was relentless, once again far from a knockout artist. . Many people rate on overall ability and those listed were studs. Most of the greatest hitters were defensive backs mainly because when it was still legal to hit they were in a position to deliver.
Hell Steve Atwater out hit most on that list. LT redefined the LB position but as far as delivering "knockout" hits he is outside the top ten IMO

A true list would include Andre waters, chuck cecil, rodney Harrison.
That said, they were also cheap shot artists.
