I think MU will always try to grab a JUCO recruit or two that has been seen as that go-to guy in the past, even in an inferior program.
Zaire Taylor has the nads to take any shot with the game on the line b/c that's what he was asked to do with his JUCO squad. Granted, Taylor's not like Griffen in that he's not exactly a lead-pipe lock to make said shot, but he'll never be afraid to take it.
Ultimately, in college ball, I'll take a savvy PG over a 'go to' scorer every time. I think Anderson's system is so guard heavy that he'll never want for PG recruits. He'll have a strong stable of guards every season. That'll be enough to win you a lot of ballgames.
His major question mark is how well he'll be able to recruit big-men. It'll be the quality of the 4s and 5s on his club (really, two 4s) that will decide if his team is a top 4 in the Big XII, Sweet 16 style club, or just another of the fringe tournament teams we see live and die by their outside shooting every year.
The development of DeWitt and Moore (and Bowers and Ramsey), as well as the end result of the Jerrid Famous recruiting saga will tell us a lot about the long-term potential of this program.
