Let me preface this by saying I hate McDaniels with a passion and am torn when I see the NFL crew ripping him between shouting my agreement with the TV, and plotting various terrible actions for him making the team a national laughing stock.
All that said, picking a RB in the first round made a certain amoutn of sense. You have a great offensive line and can add a level of explosiveness if you believe this young man will be a big-time player--and make up a little bit for trading one of the most dangerous arms in the league.
I probably would have rathered to flip the order and go Orakpo and then Beanie Wells, but apparently they weren't super high on Orakpo, and were on Ayers.
