The price was steep, but if the guy can play and becomes a solid starter - he's worth it.
Many thought he would go late in R1, so if he was the highest rated guy on their board... why not make the trade? Sure, they gave up a 2010 R1 to get him, but I won't worry about it if the guy can play. They think he can, so we'll find out.
Regarding Bradford... again, I won't worry about the next potentially great QBs in the draft.
Orton has been an average (at worst) QB in a system that loves to run... now he's in a system that loves to pass and now has what should be a top flight RB option. We'll see how the defense comes along, but Orton could be consistently a top 12 type of performer with the weapons they have in McD's system.
