I was 17 when I moved away to go to college. That was tough. Looking back I remember the homesickness, but it went away pretty fast when I got involved with new friends and school. It was a complete 180 from what I had been used to and made me grow up fast. Buck, you'll be surprised how life gets in the way of missing mom. In fact, when you visit her it will be better than living there.
