This is an often spoken sentiment.
As you already know, there seems to be something lacking in our punishments if we're looking to simply inflict the same amount of horror on the perpetrator as was incurred on the victim(s).
What we need is something more intense than death, with some sort of eternal aspect to it.
Don't worry, I think God's on top of the situation.
