Without reading through all of this, just want to report what I heard Brett say on 810 today talking to KK. He apologized for cussing, and stood by the remarks otherwise. Clearly was feeling bad about the whole thing. I could sense he felt he had spoiled an otherwise spotless reputation.
Keitzman was cool to him. Actually said (paraphrased), "you're George Brett! People in this town love you. If you were a classic car, this wouldn't equate to even a grocery store cart dent in your side!"
Brett said he wished he had been allowed a do-over before it was aired on T.V., and asked Keitzman if that's ever allowed by media. Keitzman's response: "Some guys will allow a do-over, but Jack Harry isn't one of them."
Brett ended by saying he has always worn his emotions on his sleeve, and obviously still has a high level of passion for the Royals' organization.
