We might be able to squeeze in the rookie draft, but it would be very close. Probably too close.
So how do we accelerate? I have a few suggestions, and let's hear what you think.
1. We start the rookie draft simultanously when we hit Round 26 of the veteran draft.
2. We could lower the time limit to 8 hours starting in Round 17.
3. Once we hit the start of Round 17, we could conceivably do something kind of unique by doing this: odd-numbered rounds draft from the AFC starting with the 1st pick, and even-numbered rounds draft from the NFC going backwards from the 19th pick, and we run them simultaneously. Both tracks have to finish up before we start the next pair of rounds, so we do 17 and 18, and then when they're done we flip conferences and do it again with Rounds 19 and 20.
What do y'all think?

I'm great with any idea that speeds this thing up.
