I have a question, and I hope it's not too morbid.
If someone shoots you in your sleep, do you even know it happened? Would you instantly lose consciousness and die without pain or knowledge? Or is there any moment of awareness that occurs?
As tempting as it is to envy a death without pain, there's something that seems very unfair and unsatisfying about dying without knowing about it. It would seem to be a life incomplete, and I don't think I'd want that fate.
