Haley made a good point today on the radio (possibly recorded yesterday etc)
Petro mentioned that Pioli had stated that Cassel ‘earned his contract’ but still needs to ‘earn his job’ etc. Petro went on to say that was a bit exaggerated - that no team would pay that kind of money and give up a pick simply to have a competition at the position etc.
Haley then mentioned something I forgot about; he favored Warner over the highly drafted/paid Leinart; and also Romo over highly paid (at least comparatively speaking) Bledsoe;
Finally, he re-empahsized the decision to go with Brady over the newly signed and highly paid Bledsoe. I forget what they signed Bledsoe at that time for….seemed pretty large at the time.
Anyway; I like Haley and Pioli’s approach thus far about competing. Of course, talk is cheap so far. We’ll see.
