Not sure what a "real" reason would be to declare war, but the unprovoked attack, killing & capture of US soldiers & civilians seems pretty good to me.
Again, only because they involved Asians, were we not willing to get involved. Roosevelt admitted he " overlooked" Japans aggression only because he wanted to fight the Germans.

No, I was not aware that any Americans were involved in that fight, let alone any of them died. Please provide your evidence.
