The chargers aren't that talented. They have one good corner, one good LB, a good QB, receiver, and a scatback. Their offensive line, MLBs, and safeties are very average if not worse.
They are well below NFL average in all 3 defensive front positions, strong safety, and right tackle.
This is what happens when you continually draft skill position players and give away the farm trying to trade up instead of building a team in the trenches.
None of the chargers last 3 1st round draft picks are even starting.
As Chiefs fans I wouldn't worry about the Chargers. He got lucky for a couple of years and inherited a good foundation, but give AJ Smith 2 more years and he'll have them run back down to permanent sub .500 level.
