As Chiefs fans I wouldn't worry about the Chargers. He got lucky for a couple of years and inherited a good foundation, but give AJ Smith 2 more years and he'll have them run back down to permanent sub .500 level.

You want to talk about inheriting a good situation? Look at your GM. The only reason he is relevant was the situation he had with the Cheaters.
