He's definitely one of the best players in the draft, but ignoring his position as the top overall pick isn't as cut and dry as you make it. Serious consideration has to be taken. That's some serious coin for a safety. ONLY ONE safety has gone as the top overall pick. ONE. That's worthy of healthy debate, not the mud-slinging crap of earlier.
