I don't think having a bad game is a big deal.
But it's important to look at the reason why it happened. This was the first game where the Jets looked like they weren't in at least some control of the game. It was the first game where you could see the Jets take the kid gloves off and open up the offense. But that's what would happen to any inexperienced QB.
It wouldn't bother me so much, but there are dozens of posters who are obsessing over how amazing Sanchez has been and how much of a bust Cassel is. Obsessing. The same people who refuse to believe that a crappy situation has led Cassel to be uneffective are the same who are making excuses for Sanchez not excelling when the situation wasn't as favorable.
This game wouldn't have been such a big deal if there weren't so many people hugging his nuts for the first month of the season.
