SD has a an Offense that is potentially very, very good. They show flashes of that all through every game they play. Part of it is the talent level and the coaching, a big ass chunk of that is Rivers. He's pretty damn good. The guy has freakish awareness and mental speed. He's tough, he's smart, he makes plays. I can see how his play might demoralize a more weak minded Defense.
Previous Denver teams have been known to "give up" for a number of reasons. They're all explainable. It may have to do with a mixture of things:

1) Players aren't well-conditioned and their bodies can't keep up for an entire game

2) Players can't keep up for an entire game because their offense/coaching decisions put them in that unfortunate position

3) Players just happen to make a bad play. It happens when you have bad players on your team. I mean, compare last year's defense to this year's defense. There are all kinds of position changes. One of the only constants has been the playing level of Dumervil and Bailey who are (surprise surprise) good players

4) Bad play-calling/bad game planning/not making appropriate game adjustments. This was as much as 50% of the problem of last year's Chiefs team

There are many more. The Broncos have a great coach. He has a great staff. Nolan made GREAT calls in the 2nd half especially after getting abused in the 1st half. More pressure from blitzing and stunts got to Rivers and he started choking.

That's bullshit that some players want to win more than others or "know" how to win. You know how you win? You be a good football player. It's not ****ing philosophy.
