Every professional sport takes insane amounts of skill and groomed talent, quit being ignorant. I have the same argument about baseball with foreign people who don't get it and think it's some talentless hacks hitting and catching the ball when in reality it's probably the hardest of all sports to be "pro" good at.

It really has nothing to do with the above. Some Americans don't consider it good "sport" unless it is full-contact. That's pretty much it.
