to us. But do we know how long other life forms (if they exist) live? Distance is a function of time. Maybe they don't just "hop in a ship and go to the next solar system." Who knows how they travel? We need to understand that we don't understand everything.
With that being said, I actually don't think the earth is being visited by extra terrestrial beings.
