Its been proven since basically forever that laws do not stop the use of marijuana, and propagandizing it as a drug that the users of which needlessly kill or go crazy, has just created a modern day rite of passage for smokers. You must watch reefer madness at least once while high, that and maybe Dazed and Confused, and possibly the Darkside of Oz (gets kind of boring to me though).
If we could at least legalize growing hemp for the purpose of textile production, that would be wonderful.

the funny thing is, it was originally made illegal because the rich white people in the 30's(?) were told it was a 'black' drug.
I'm probably not exactly accurate here, but I seem to remember the illegalization of it was more race related than anything.
weed being lllegal is a complete joke and pointless. but, keeping it illegal keeps 1000's of people employed with the 'drug war'.
