If you have an open route to the end-zone and you're in a tie game, you take the TD. Don't get cute and down it to set up a field goal, take the lead and play D. If the Browns had a 3 pt lead or something (like the Westbrook game), then it's a great decision. But if you're tied and the TD is there, you take it.

I don't agree with this. So far this year, the success rate for PATs is 98.4% based on
these stats from nfl.com. Dawson's success rate is even higher than that. The chances of a Chiefs TD drive with less than a minute to go are low, but I think they're better than 1.6%, especially in a game in which the Chiefs offense was moving the ball pretty well. In fact, they came within a poorly-executed, 26-yard hail mary of doing it.
Besides, even if Dawson misses the game winner, you're still going to overtime.
