When nominations cease, begin with a Wild Card round. The wild card round consists of anyone who only received 1 second. Right now, there are 45 nominees, 18 of whom have +1. That means there are 27 guaranteed entrants into the first round. In the Wild Card round, you would take the +1 people and run them all against each other. The top 5 would make it into the playoffs, giving you 32 entrants. Then you seed the remaining participants from 1-32, matching 1 and 32, 2 and 31, 3 and 30, etc.

Of course the numbers would change based on any additional nominations, but it's just a thought.

I love it. If everyone would find it entertaining, I'm sure the rest of the Academy would have no problem making it so.
