I wonder if things will ever be the same, although that's probably being pessimistic. I don't think the Carl Peterson way of doing things was right, but I always did think it wouldn't be as easy as just "having a couple bad years to accumulate draft picks." Sometimes it's hard to recapture the magic once it hits the bottom. I think it's possible, but right now you're facing that KU and Mizzou football are much more popular, and the most recognizable/marketable athletes in KC play for the Royals.
You've just allowed thousands of Chiefs fans to realize they didn't have to drop 1000's on football.
