That'll hurt to be sure, but they did get both Fred Taylor and Sammy Morris back recently so the running game is in good shape. Julian Edelman can make some plays at WR in Welker's role, and there's still Moss. If it were in Baltimore, I'd be pessimistic, but I think the Pats can beat them in Gillette even without Welker. (I'm hoping, since I'll be there.)

(If the Pats win, they get to go to San Diego. On paper, that one looks like a sure-fire ass-kicking by the Chargers. On the other hand, the Chargers continually choke in the big game, and there's always the Norv Factor, so that game would be 50/50 probably...)
