Sergio Kindle played DE his last year at Texas. Does he profile best as a 4-3 DE or a 3-4 OLB?

Eric Crouch played QB at Nebraska, yet was...gasp, drafted as a safety.

James Harrison played DE in college yet became DPOY at an OLB.

Now, why might that be important to projecting someone for the next level?

Because it's obvious now that the projections are off/wrong. And you seem to have trouble understanding this.
