No one can blame someone for helping an injured kid, it is an instinct most normal people would have. I know several people who have and do go to Haiti for relief work, like building water treatment in rural areas. Glad they weren't there this past week.
that said, the last thing I'd want to do is touch very many random bloody people in Haiti, their HIV rate is through the roof.
