For those wondering about the hate, apparently Shuster has a history of making bad decisions. He is the skip of team USA. In NFL terms, it basically means he is the offensive and defensive coordinator combined. He is the one who analyzes the playing field and decides what shot the team will attempt. While the rock is moving, he decides what the sweepers should be doing, and the other three team members carry out his orders.
On the last shot, all they had to do is gently lay the rock into the middle, his sweepers thought it was good, but he yelled at them to keep sweeping. Turns out the sweepers were right, the rock went too far, and sailed right past Norway's rock out of scoring position.
