But its a case of precepetion = reality not, the facts. Clark paid top $ for coaches and a GM because they were on the open market. In their opinion the player FA's wern't worth the money, time or trouble that they would bring with them to KC.
Could we have went after more FA's? sure. But, to what end? Bring in talent that is old? locker room or off the field issues? or over pay what the market says their worth just because you have to do "something". This approach hasn't been validated with success by the Cowboys, Redskins or any other teams who have tried this approach.
