high priced free agents do not want to really come to a team that is struggling to get out of the bottom. They generally go to teams that are starting to make that turn or go to teams that have an actual shot at making the play offs.
Not all, but most. we have no clue if they did try to sign some of these guys and their agents said, no dice. we are going elsewhere.
