As far as a mix I am sure the pure protein is better as far as calories etc...go.. For RTD (REadt to Drink) MM has the best products in my opinion and we make them for most everybody. We are getting ready to start producing GNC's brand of RTD Protein shakes as well the Syntha 6.
You cant make a high protein 100% whey protein RTD shake and it stay stable, it will turn to pudding, many have tried to do it. That's one advantage to the powders over RTD.

Pure Protein does it with casein.
The problem I have with mixing whey and fat is that the whole point of whey is the quick absorption, but fat slows down absorption. Plus, it's got unnecessary calories. I'd rather eat those calories with actual food, instead of needlessly putting fat into a protein shake.
