It just ****ing amazes me that this many fans believe that trading down every year is the best way to go about things.

Teams that trade down are generally the teams that have a lot of top end talent (Eagles, Patriots). The Chiefs can't afford not to get a serious playmaker out of THIS draft.
Overall you make a good point but frankly, no matter what anyone says or how it ended up, trading down and getting LJ worked out pretty well for us. Obviously we weren't going to take Polamalu anyway, so I can't knock the pick of a coaches kid who rushed for 2,000 yards his last year in college, fell to us at the 27th pick and ended up rushing for over 1700 yards and 2 pro bowls.

Then the next year when Carl thought he had it all figured out and we traded down and ended up with the giant turd that was Junior Siavii.

Tank was a fringe player at best. He was never really good at anything. Taking someone like him in the 2nd round is lunacy.
Tyler was a 3rd round pick, Turk was the 2nd. To be fair, Tyler was rated as a 2nd rounder by most though.
