How about trying something novel like paying a little less attention to the dumbass reporters and radio guys and a little more attention to not doing ridiculously stupid shit on Sundays, like the infamous 4-8-28, or actually putting the best players on the field in the first place, rather than when injury forces the situation.

I don't see how the signs were particularly stupid. You have a veteran in the locker room undermining your coach. The last thing you want is for your coach to lose control of your locker room. Or to admit that he's powerless when someone challenges his credibility. You either address it or you don't. And that is directed toward both your locker room and the media, that might also call into question whether your coach is too inexperienced to lead.
Nobody talked about Haley being a golf coach again. Yeah, it's a little childish, but it got the job done.
