The game had nothing to do with anything. They couldn't win the tiebreakers. The game was meaningless... except it was the whole season to the Chiefs.

Just think, you'll still be posting video clips of that game for twenty years, just like the videos of Montana's stirring come-from-behind victory over a 5-11 team, in another season of Chiefs' disappointment.
