It's far too much of a "me" league. His excuse that he won't honor his contract because NFL teams don't honor the players contracts is B.S. As a player, you are a product of the team, and all contracts are able to be broken at any time by the NFL team that you have a deal with. You as a player, has to understand you're not bigger than the team.

MLB and NBA guarantee contracts. Therefore, you never, ever, ever see a holdout.
Because NFL teams wanted the luxury of being able to cut a player and not pay a player for the rest of his contract, they have to deal with the fact that players may hold out.
It's pretty simple. You want to avoid holdouts? Guarantee the entire contract. If you don't guarantee the contract, you don't have any ****ing right to bitch when a player doesn't "honor" it.
