Kansas won a BCS bowl game 3 seasons ago. Something MU and KSU have never done. Yesterday was bad but it was the guy's first game. Neb is not leaving because the level of football being played in the Big 12. The Big 12 is significantly more accomplished in football in recent years than the Big 10.
Nebraska thinks they are on the level with Texas or Oklahoma, etc... but they're not. Yes they've got a good defense right now but I personally think they are leaving for a league with more alumni and tv sets. So yes, attendance is higher in those stadiums because of how many freaking people went to the school, not because they are good football teams.

My point was, if all the teams in the big 12 were consistently competitive, other teams would not be in such a hurry to bail. Sure, KU strung together a few good years recently, but if they go back into the cellar the conference loses profitability. If the conference didn't have shit-hole teams like baylor or iowa state, (or if said teams could actually be at least mediocre) it would still be the big 12 instead of the big 9.5.
