Pioli did a much, much better job evaluating talent this year as compared to last year.
That being said, maybe I'm just stubborn, but I'm still not thrilled with day 2 of the draft. I know RDMC bailed KC out last night. But in the long run, are you going to rely on 94 yard punt returns in every game, or would it be better to have a QB that your OC has some faith in? A returner/nickle CB or a WR that get separation and catch the ball so that the team can put the game away and not play scaredy cat football the entire 2nd half?
I want the draft picks to work out since they are Chiefs, and I'm happy as hell they did so well. I defended RDMC last week when Clayton wrote the asinine article about RDMC being a failure if he doesn't put up 700 or more receiving yards, but in the long run my gut is still telling me build the core first. Hopefully my gut will be wrong.
