I remember reading an article when the smoking bans started in KC that if a restaurant owner simply asks someone not to smoke in their place, they have complied with the law. Beyond that, they have no responsibility to enforce it. I'm surprised that hasn't come up.
"I asked the bar full of smokers to stop (wink, wink), and none of them did, so I guess there's just nothing I can do about it." seems that it would work in a place like the world famous Tool Shed Lounge in beautiful Independence, Missouri.
