IPTV will kill them, how television and to some degree movies etc is going to change radically, some of the existing business models will fold. Satellite TV being one of them, much like internet radio is helping to kill satellite radio. Seriously now that I have pandora in my phone that hooks up to my car, why would I ever want satellite radio anymore? Cable/network TV will take a big hit too. The difference is they provide true data services. Cable may stop being as much TV and become more ISP. The infrastructure costs and the equipments issues will kill off satellite and they can't easily become a network provider when they lose the TV revenue unlike cable.
The real issue holding back IPTV is the bandwidth concerns and that may be solved a lot sooner than you think.
