Off topic, but when I was in high school there was one kid in my class who had some sort of hobby of stirring turpentine with his fingers or something. I could never figure it out, but his fingers always looked horrible, peeling skin and stained and stuff, and it really didn't look like a medical condition. It was something he was doing. I think he had to have some hobby where he was messing around with caustics or acids or something.

He was a nice guy, but I didn't know him very well and never would've said anything about it, but I remember laughing at some point when I was with a friend and this guy's name came up. My friend said, "By the way, do you know the deal with his fingers? It looks like he sticks them in a blast furnace every day."

at least they didn't smell like ass...
