He's either going to take a serious hit in draft status or get drafted to the next shitty team.

And if you're going to a shitty team, a team like Carolina with a stable of young RBs, a couple of promising WRs (and a veteran with some gas left) and an O-line with some nice parts sure isn't a bad place to land.

Remember - Carolina was 13-3 2 season ago, right? And not bad last year either. This season was a blip, that's a solid franchise that will be in pretty good shape in short order.

The good news is that Gabbert could well end up in Carolina now, which would kick all kinds of ass.
