My gut reaction is not just not, but hell no.
Then I started thinking of all the works "in translation" I've read and seen. Most are from other languages, but I've also read modern language "translations" of Shakespeare, Chaucer, and Beowulf. Most of them suck, but they're out there.
So I guess from a detached, intellectual point of view, I don't have a huge problem with it, as long as it is listed as a translation. It certainly doesn't thrill me, and it's not something I'd want to use in the classroom, but I can see the rationale.
But I'd prefer to just go with my immediate kneejerk and persist in my, "HELL NO."
