I can respect that, as it's a general rule in my life as well. However, in this situation, stepping in between two teenage girls that are kicking another human in the face repeatedly is not like stepping in between a weapons assault or car jacking. I think it's reasonable to assume that a grown man would suffer little to no injury stepping in to protect the human being on the ground. Let alone if one or two others of the half a dozen people watching helped. Or if anyone even attempted to do anything like call the police.

I'd be embarrassed if I didn't do anything and I watched someone's grandmother do more to stop the fight than anyone else in the restaurant. Embarrassed.
