Talked to dad during lunch. He said the president of the local NALC branch there lost their house. Also, one city carrier and two rural carriers confirmed dead that lived in that area. One of the post offices was destroyed.
I asked dad what the post office does in cases like this. He said that they will hold mail for ten days, and then, if no one claims it, it will get returned to the senders.
They're saying that, if you find any medical records from St Johns, you should hold on to them for now. They are focusing their efforts on the survival of patients and helping others. They will announce at a later date where people can send anything they have found. Also, four lives were lost in the hospital as a result of the tornado.
