The 34defense Haley runs is the same defense Parcells ran for the Giants. It's the same one Belichick ran everywhere he's gone, including with the Giants under Parcells.
That's what they prefer, they like the odds of finding players for that system compared to paying big $ for DE's in the 43 that are rarely as good as they are paid.
They like to rush 3 and drop into zone. If they can do this 10 times a game, they usually get turnovers.
