Here's how they should do kickoffs. Imagine this:
The defense can place a defender in every five yard zone from the 30 onward. The kicker is at the 30, another player is placed between the 30 and 35, another between the 35 and 40, and so on, with the frontmost player positioned between the receiving team's 20 and 25. The receiving team gets one returner and one blocker.
The defenders cannot leave their five-yard zone, with the exception of the kicker and the second-to-last defender, who can run all the way to their own end zone.
You kick the ball off, and then it's a two-on-one drill ten times.
