Oh, I'm not saying that Haley won't or even might not fall on the sword Cassel calls his penis. He very well may.

What I'm saying is that, if he does, it would be patently unfair. Cassel is dysfunction incarnate. The problem here isn't Haley's ability to HC an NFL team, it's Haley's ability to HC an NFL team with Cassel at the helm.

Honestly, unless you're the NE Patriots with an established, entrenched, solid, successful team (O, D, and STs), Cassel brings little or nothing to the table.

In fact (and at the risk of sounding too much like Mr. milkman), I said it at the time; franchising Cassel was one of the shrewdest personnel moves Wild Bill (or anybody) ever made. It created the impression that Cassel was the real deal and elevated his "perceived" value across the league as a legitimate quarterback. That, my friend, is the myth of Cassel. When, in actuality, Bill stuck it to his old padna like a Navy Seal's schlong in a Chinese lesbian's patoot.
