It makes little sense to me, either. McClellan isn't on the roster for this series b/c he has a dead arm. The Cards are going with 11 pitchers rather than their usual 12, so that lops off one spot. Tony isn't going to go into a series w/o two lefties, though, so Rzep will stay in there.
