Here's what I'll say: If you say that a team all-out blitzing Cassel removes him from responsibility for his poor performance, fine. But other teams will all-out blitz every game, and Cassel will never be held responsible. If blitzing was so effective that a QB absolutely shut down the way Cassel did today, it'd be done every play, every single day. Good QBs LOVE blitzing, as it's an invitation for huge yardage. Cassel continually showed little to no mental fortitude. He didn't call many audibles (that I could tell), he didn't put his head up after avoiding a sack, he didn't take appropriate opportunities to throw it away, and most importantly didn't show more composure when he knew they'd start blitzing consistently.
