Raw pet foods are an alternative to stock brands and you don't have to make dog food in your kitchen. Primall, Bravo or Stella&Chewy's are some brands I can think of.
Oh, and Nature's Knowledge or Nature's Logic or something like that.
Wife gets it at the hippy-dippy holistic pet store. I'd feed them purina dog chow and soup bones but whatever.
