That's essentially the same way it works at Arrowhead with the suites, except that you can't even buy it, you have to lease it. The prices are about the same, too.
Last year my buddy and I (and a bunch of other people) were considering getting a suite for a game to celebrate a bunch of birthdays at one time. I was thinking that with all the different levels of suites they have now at Arrowhead we could surely get the lowest one. We had budgeted $10k to blow on a single game, and had in our minds that we were ready to do it.
We went up there with our $10k number and said we want a suite for a game. They basically laughed at us. They said their lowest suite is $30k...per game!!?? And you have to lease those things for years in advance. Again, you don't own it, and that's for the smallest one they have.
The only thing they would give us for $10k was a "field box" which is basically a roped off section of lower level seats with a little heater and some food...that you have to buy extra.
I decided I stick with my regular season tix for that game and forget about giving them $10k since they didn't want to give me something a little nicer. I guess the joke's still on me.
All of that said, I am talking about suites. If this really is for one, single, seat, then that's pretty crazy. There are people that will pay it, though, and the strength of the team will either greatly enhance or greatly reduce the value.
