Nobody needs 3 years on the bench to develop. He can learn about as much as he's ever going to by sitting for a year or two at the most. Throwing the football isn't some magical act.
Rivers throws with a 3/4 motion. Brees takes a 15 yard drop back. Vick throws with his wrist. Big Ben throws while raping women. Matt Cassel throws softly and with his eyes closed.
The only question is if the guy has what it takes between the ears. Its not his tools or mechanics that are going to hold him back long term.
